The student leadership coordinators gathering took place in Moyle Park College, Dublin in January 2025 hosted by the Marist Education Team Leigh Ellis, Maria Rauscher and Br. Pj with Alastair Callaghan from Kinharvie.

It was an inspiring and insightful event, bringing together the teachers from 7 different Marist schools across Ireland, Scotland and Germany dedicated to nurturing student leadership in schools.

The meeting featured engaging reflective activities and discussions that explored best practices for empowering young leaders. Topics ranged from fostering inclusivity and resilience in leadership, to the challenges we face as coordinators of the program.

We had the opportunity to share experiences, exchange ideas, and network with like-minded professionals, creating a collaborative atmosphere.

Practical strategies and innovative approaches were highlighted, ensuring coordinators left with valuable tools to enhance the student leadership initiatives in their schools.

Overall, the meeting was a dynamic and enriching experience, reinforcing the importance of student voice and leadership in education. We concluded the day in Pandini’s Restaurant in which we shared a delicious meal together, and had some down time to catch up with one another.

We look forward to next coordinators gathering in Glasgow next year!
